Unconditional love

Most times the need to belong drives us to seek out stable relationships with other people making us compromise our principles just to fit it if we aren’t careful enough💁🏾‍♀️.

One of the most beautiful feelings is that of acceptance, to be loved💞 for who we are…. Having people who are in love with our flaws, our imperfections, embracing us for being ourselves. They see the good in us and help us out with our imperfections is indeed a blessing 😇

And I’m blessed to have such people around me @i_am_pwesh @amingo_smith one love❤️💓💕💖💗💝💞

My Strengths

“Someone once said,’turn your pain to poetry’ , I turned poetry to my strength”

Well we’ve all faced difficulties one way or the other. We’ve felt pains…

But what do you do in that situation,do you sit mopping around or you turn it to your strengths?

Do your pain make or mar you?

Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted to be a writer. I scribbled the words in my notebook and gave it to my mum to read it.

This is the first poem I ever wrote.

I wrote it after reading Faceless by the Ghanian writer Amma Darko.

Note that; All over the world, there are several people living on the streets. This is not because they want to but circumstances and situations push them out there. Some are there due to war, poverty, lack of education and lots more.

In Nigeria, they are are popularly called the ‘Almajiris’. My thoughts captured how I feel whenever I see them.

The Caged Bird

The caged bird          Sitting in a caged Can never discover it’s potential  It only discovers itself    when it spreads it’s wings                              out to the sky”.   Jomaywrites

I came across a poem ‘I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings’ back in secondary school days written by Maya Angelou and it struck my heart 💔.
I unknowingly memorized stanza three…
‘The caged bird sings with a fearful thrill of things unknown..
but longed for still..
And his tune is heard on the distant hill..
For the caged bird sings for freedom.’
This particular stanza resonated on me. I felt the longings, the pains of being caged . It was soooo overwhelming. I realized then that we all long for freedom in respective of our race, ethnicity and religion. We all want to feel fulfilled,so we do what we do and then my  question was, how do we get that feeling?. I thought over it a thousand times and I came to a conclusion that we need to get up, spread out our wings and  fly.
Do you know why the caged bird sings?💁🏾‍♀️
As for me I do
Why don’t you check out the poem☺️
